The Denver Broncos have traded Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams.
For Rams fans, this has got to be one of the most exciting times in the last 20 years. The team has made one bold move after another and now features three future Hall of Famers defensively.
For Denver Broncos fans? This is a devastating blow. A gut-punch for the ages. This is one of the most legendary players in team history being shipped off at the deadline, and the Broncos are footing the bill for the price of a second and third-round pick.
And more moves could yet be on the way.
Denver Broncos: More big moves to make after Von Miller blockbuster
Trading Von Miller will undoubtedly be the biggest move the Denver Broncos make, but it probably won’t be the last.
General manager George Paton has already been wheeling and dealing in the days leading up to the 2021 NFL trade deadline.
He’s actually already struck a deal with the Los Angeles Rams, swapping 2024 late-round picks in exchange for Rams linebacker Kenny Young, who started for the Broncos in Sunday’s win over Washington.
He also struck a trade last week for Vikings pass rusher Stephen Weatherly, who channeled his inner Von Miller for a sack off that strong side against Washington in his Denver debut.
Although the Broncos don’t have Von Miller, they do still have a chance to compete for one out of seven playoff spots this season. At 4-4, this is not a team that’s just going to lie down and stop playing.
But they might continue selling before the trade deadline.
Here are some moves the Broncos might consider now that they have ripped off the bandage and traded away one of the most legendary players in franchise history.
