The 2021 NFL Trade Deadline has now come and gone. Which teams were “winners” and which teams were “losers”? We take a look.

Although many NFL fans and pundits like to poke fun at the NFL trade deadline for a lack of action, there have been a variety of moves made around the league in the two weeks that could make a substantial difference down the stretch of the season.

Which teams around the league were big winners at the NFL trade deadline, and which teams were losers?

We’ve got you covered.

Winner: Los Angeles Rams

Big trade

Von Miller was easily the most high-profile player moved at the 2021 NFL Trade Deadline.

Miller, the MVP of Super Bowl 50, is 32 years old but is also still playing at an exceptionally high level. Despite missing all of 2020 with an injury, Miller has come back this season looking as explosive as he ever has.

So many self-appointed experts on Twitter wanted to clown the Rams for this trade because of Miller’s age, but what needs to be understood is that Miller is not like the average professional athlete. Miller is a transcendental talent whose ability hasn’t waned, nor has his athleticism.

There’s no evidence that Miller has lost a step or that he is not the player he once was. People will want to point to sack numbers, but in reality, Miller is able to substantially affect games as a pass rusher, and playing on the same defensive front as Aaron Donald?

Wade Phillips is probably wishing he still had the Rams’ DC job.

As it is now, the Rams take the NFL’s most well-rounded roster and add a superstar.

Who cares about the draft picks?

This Rams team has not had a first-round pick since 2016, and it doesn’t matter. They have been in contention most years since then.

They were already Super Bowl favorites, in my opinion, before this trade. This move to get Von Miller only enhances their chances.
