FanDuel DFS NFL picks and advice for Week 9 of the 2021 NFL season to help you build the perfect DFS fantasy football lineup.

Welcome back to yet another week of FanDuel DFS advice, this time for Week 9 of the NFL season. Between the Derrick Henry injury and the overall low-scoring fantasy plays, Week 8 was quite a weird slate. While I had quite a few lineups cash due to strong performances from a variety of Rams and Bills players, I had just as many lineups fall flat due to the loss of Henry and duds from players like Herbert and Hurts.

Looking ahead to Week 9, the Seahawks, Washington Football Team, Buccaneers, and Lions are all on bye. Additionally, players from the Colts, Jets, Titans, Rams, Bears, and Steelers will all be unavailable as they all play in prime-time games.

When talking about players I will reference the salaries and salary cap of a typical FanDuel tournament. I will also show a complete sample lineup, which consists of nine positions: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, and DEF.

Note that your individual strategy should change based on the type of contests you enter, though I will reference different strategies for both cash and tournament formats.

Without further ado, here are picks and FanDuel DFS advice for every position for Week 9 of the NFL season!

FanDuel DFS NFL Week 9 picks and lineup advice: Quarterback

Josh Allen ($9000) has solidified himself as the most elite fantasy quarterback in the NFL, with his rushing and passing volume giving him one of the safest floors and highest ceilings around. This week he gets to face the Jaguars as 14-point favorites and should continue his streak of dominance.

Patrick Mahomes ($8500) is also up there in price, and while I think this is about as low as his roster percentage is going to get all year, it is hard to deny what we are seeing, which is that Mahomes is not playing at the level he was last year. Leading the league with ten interceptions, he also has five fumbles in the last four games. These are turnovers that we just did not see in the past and they have led to two duds in the past two weeks.

If you are looking for a cash lineup play, I would much rather pay up for Allen or save some salary and lock Lamar Jackson ($8300) into my lineup.

Jalen Hurts ($7800) is someone I am looking to go right back to after a disappointing performance in a Week 8 blowout against the Lions.  However, he will have to throw more than fourteen times in order to beat the Chargers and will continue to produce 50 plus rushing yards on the ground. With his rushing upside Hurts should always be priced as a top-five quarterback, so I will gladly play him at this discount.

Additionally, Kirk Cousins ($7400) should be able to do some damage in a must-win game against a relatively weak Baltimore secondary. Cousins has looked pretty solid throughout the year and should be able to easily pay off his salary this week.

In my opinion, the punt play this week has to be Tyrod Taylor ($6900) against a pitiful Miami Dolphins pass defense. Though we have a small sample size, we saw Taylor get it done through the air and on the ground, and at only $6900, he will easily pay off this salary if he is fully healthy.
