FanDuel DFS NFL Week 9 picks and lineup advice: Tight End

First and foremost, if George Kittle ($6000) is healthy against the Cardinals, you have to play him at that price point. So consider all the following advice only relevant if he is unable to go.

Travis Kelce ($7800) has had a strong of relatively disappointing games, but obviously still has more upside than any other tight end on the slate.

Mark Andrews ($7100) is also quietly the number one tight end on the year and is a very safe play against a weak Minnesota secondary.

While I do not think punting is very viable this week, I will mention Mike Gesicki ($6200) as a cheaper option against a poor Houston secondary. I think that Tua will come to play in a game that could very well derail his career if the Dolphins were to lose to the Texans.

FanDuel DFS NFL Week 9 picks and lineup advice: Defense

Maybe my memory serves me incorrectly, but I believe the Bills ($5200) are the first defense I have ever seen priced at about $5000. While it makes sense to price them that high as they are the league’s best defense against one of the league’s worst offenses, there are a few cheaper plays that represent much better value.

The Cowboys ($3900) have been a respectable defense and now get to face a Broncos team as 10-point favorites that really have not shown an ability to put up a lot of points all year.

My favorite play of the week is the 49ers ($3500), especially if Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins are ruled out. Considering they held a healthy Kyler Murray to 20 points in their first meeting, it is just too cheap for a good defense that could be playing a bad offense without Murray.

The Chiefs ($3300) may hurt to put into your lineup, but can easily return value against Jordan Love in his NFL debut.

Finally, the Falcons ($3200) are another dirt cheap option that will face some combination of backup quarterbacks in a game with a 41 point over-under. It may hurt to click the plus button and add them to your lineup, but they are a safe option this week.

FanDuel DFS NFL Week 9 Lineup

  • QB Lamar Jackson – $8300
  • RB Dalvin Cook – $8800
  • RB Darrell Williams – $6700
  • WR Justin Jefferson – $7600
  • WR Rashod Bateman – $5400
  • WR Tee Higgins – $6600
  • TE Mark Andrews – $7100
  • FLEX George Kittle – $6000
  • D/ST San Francisco 49ers – $3500

This is not a safe lineup by any means, as it heavily stacks the Ravens and Vikings game, which is one of my favorite games to target this week. If that game were to go under its Vegas implied total, there is a very low chance that this lineup cashes.

Additionally, playing two tight ends is always a move that adds some risk to your lineup. However, if you look at the players around the price point of George Kittle, it will become apparent that you are playing the best player that you can for $6000 if he is fully healthy.

Darrell Williams and Tee Higgins should offer some guaranteed production that can support our lineup if the Vikings and Ravens stack comes through, pushing our lineup to the top of tournaments.

Regardless of your eventual lineup choices, best of luck in Week 9 and go make some money!
