NFL Odds: Quarterly MVP rankings
Quarterly MVP Rankings: 10. Patrick Mahomes +2000
Patrick Mahomes? This far down the MVP pole? Yup. This isn’t a typo and to be candid, Mahomes is lucky he’s this high.
Mahomes was considered the golden boy, the chosen one, and the best quarterback of all time, despite playing only about 30 seconds in the league.
What Mahomes was able to accomplish in only a handful of years was unheard of. He won league MVP in his first full year as the starter. Then, he brought the Kansas City Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowls, pocketing one. Thoughts of a dynasty were thrown around left and right but the way the Chiefs look this year, they’ll be lucky to sneak into the playoffs.
With 2,368 passing yards, Mahomes still has a stranglehold on the third-most passing yards so far this year but the turnovers have been a major problem for him. Believe it or not, Mahomes has thrown the most interceptions this year with 10. Yup, that’s right, Mahomes has thrown the ball to the other team more times than turnover machines Zach Wilson and Justin Fields, both of whom are rookies.
Mahomes may have been the likely winner of the award before the year started but at this point, you’d be crazy to put any sort of money on him.
