Quarterly MVP Rankings: 15. Ryan Tannehill +10000
There was absolutely no way that Ryan Tannehill was going to win the league MVP award the way things were currently constructed. The former multiple-time Pro Bowler is having a decent year. So far, he’s thrown for 2,002 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
Those numbers though, meant absolutely nothing as running Derrick Henry was viewed as the man who carried the Tennessee Titans each and every Sunday. But, with the all-world back out for the rest of the season with a leg injury, Tannehill is a guy who can see his stock rise to the top of the charts or fall to the bottom of the barrel.
The Titans depended on Henry. Opposing defenses always placed his face on the top of their scouting reports. Now, with him out of the picture, it’s going to be sink or swim time. If Tannehill proves that he can carry the Titans to about 12 wins and raise his game, there’s a good chance that he wins the award at the end of the year. With that said, we fully expect the Titans to take a huge hit without Henry, so don’t expect Tannehill to put them on his back to lead them to the promised land.
