NFL: Top 25 boldest predictions for the rest of the season: 13. Jeremy McNichols will have gigantic second half

The Tennessee Titans will be without Derrick Henry likely for the rest of the season. He was a legit MVP candidate, and some people considered him the front runner. It’s hard to think that they can find a way to move on, but it’s what the Titans offense has to do. So, what do they have left? There’s a weird excitement for Adrian Peterson despite the fact that he’s 36 years old and was playing last season on the Detroit Lions. He’s not the guy who is going to break out in this backfield. Jeremy McNichols will.

McNicholas was already a great receiving option out of the backfield. He doesn’t get a lot of hype, but right now he is only behind Julio Jones and AJ Brown in terms of Titans receiving yards. The former fifth-round pick has shown an ability to take on the receiving role the Titans need. McNichols is even a decent rusher. He’s just stuck behind Derrick Henry. He worked very hard to keep his NFL career alive, and now he’s finally getting his shot.

After spending four seasons in a backup/special teams role with four different franchises, the Titans finally gave him a home. It’s his second season in this offense, and he knows what his strengths are. Peterson might get a few carries, but McNichols will be the one who actually helps drive the offense. Ryan Tannehill will find ways to get him involved, and he’s a great outlet option now that he’s getting snaps on 1st and 2nd down.
