NFL: Top 25 boldest predictions for the rest of the season: 7. Cooper Kupp wins Offensive Player of the Year

Cooper Kupp has quietly been one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in the league. Did you know he has 924 yards this season heading into Week 9? Did you know he also has 10 touchdowns? It seems like he’s having one of the best seasons we’ve ever seen from a wide receiver, but not everyone has noticed so far.

Kupp is on pace for 1,963 yards. That would be literally one yard short of Calvin Johnson’s 2012 record. Obviously, adding a 17th game might put an asterisk on the record, but getting to that ridiculous number is still incredibly impressive.

Kupp is also on pace for 21 touchdowns. Breaking the 20 mark is what is going to get everyone’s attention who votes for the Offensive Player of the Year award. Two people in history have had 20 touchdown receptions. Randy Moss did it with the record in 2007 and Jerry Rice did it in 1987. This is rarified air. With Derrick Henry now out for most of the season, Kupp is going to come out of nowhere and win this award.
