NFL: Top 25 boldest predictions for the rest of the season: 2. Joe Burrow finishes top five in MVP voting

This is pretty bold after that Jets loss. The Bengals looked bad in trying to keep up with Mike White, but it was literally one week. This Bengals team is already beating expectations, and Ja’Marr Chase is crushing it in the first half. Joe Burrow is coming off a torn up knee and spent no time to be one of the better throwers in the league. He’s a former number-one overall pick, so the eyes are constantly on him. He’s also playing as well as he needs to in which to stay in the MVP conversation.

Burrow is currently tied for 10th with Patrick Mahomes in odds for MVP. He needs to do a little more to get into the conversation, but he has all the tools to do it, and the Benglas receiving core is going to step up even more. Chase won’t be the only weapon in the second half. Joe Mixon, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd will all have big games throughout the season.

Burrow is currently third in the league with 20 touchdown passes. If he gets 40-45 touchdowns, voters will look at the stats and realize what kind of season he had. That Jets loss will be so far gone in the memory banks by the time the MVP vote is in. Burrow is going to get into the top five because of his stats and because of the fact he will keep winning with a Bengals team that might be contenders a year early.
