NFL: Top 25 boldest predictions for the rest of the season: 19. Cordarrelle Patterson totals 1,200 yards

Cordarrelle Patterson is the biggest surprise in the NFL when it comes to a single player. Coming into Week 9, Patterson has 268 rushing yards and 333 receiving yards. He’s been one of the biggest fantasy pickups, and he even has seven total touchdowns this season. On a team that theoretically has Calvin Ridley, Kyle Pitts, and Mike Davis, Patterson has been their best weapon.

Head coach Arthur Smith and quarterback Matt Ryan will find more dynamic ways to get Patterson involved in the offense. Ryan is going to have a stinker game every so often, which will hurt Patterson’s stats, but he won’t stop him on a large scale this year. Patterson found something that works, and the Falcons are going to make sure it keeps working.

Ridley has walked away from the game, making Patterson a much bigger part of the offense. Those touches have to go to somebody, and with Julio Jones in Tennessee, it’s likely not going to a traditional wide receiver. Patterson has a chance to ramp up his already phenomenal season. Is 1,000 yards possible? He should get that easy. Turn up the heat a little bit and let’s predict that Patterson is going to get 1,200 total yards. Heck, if the Falcons go crazy on offense, they can get Patterson to 1,500 yards. This offense might be fun to watch in the second half of the season.
