NFL: Top 25 boldest predictions for the rest of the season: 18. Lions win exactly one game

The Detroit Lions have flipped flopped weeks where they look competent one week and then look completely useless the next. Dan Campbell is trying to get his team to show something on both sides of the ball. They looked like they at least belonged in the game against the Los Angeles Rams, likely the best team in the NFC. Then, they get the doors blown off them by the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that can’t even compete in the NFC East.

The Lions have nine games to get it together and avoid being only the first team in history to go 0-17. The first team to go 0-16 was ironically also the Detroit Lions. That poor franchise and its fans. In 2008, the Lions couldn’t get anything together, everyone got fired, and they got Matthew Stafford for their troubles. So, at least there was a happy ending. Well, happy beginning.

Looking at the Lions schedule, there’s not a lot of spots for a win. Some of the games that stick out are the Bears on November 25th, the Broncos on December 12th, and the Falcons on December 26th. They will win exactly one of those games, and it will likely be the Falcons game. That just feels like the type of game a team like this will win. It will ruin everyone’s parlay, and the Lions will finally get their first win under Dan Campbell and in the Jared Goff era.
