Despite injuries to star players, the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans climbed up in our Week 10 edition of the 2021 NFL Power Rankings with huge wins in Week 9

It’s been a long time since we saw as many shocking games as we did in Week 9. Some that jumped out include the Buffalo Bills losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Denver Broncos blowing out the Dallas Cowboys.

However, there were some others that were even more impressive. One was the way the Arizona Cardinals overcame the absence of DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray as they took it to the San Francisco 49ers.

There was also the Tennessee Titans who shocked the Los Angeles Rams in their first game without Derick Henry.

Those games and more shook things up for us in our 2021 NFL Power Rankings as we approach Week 10.

Detroit Lions. 32. team. 50. . . Previous: 32nd

This season has been one to forget for the Detroit Lions. We all knew when they moved on from Matthew Stafford there would be some growing pains and that was only exacerbated by the fact that Jared Goff was very limited in how many options he had in the passing game.

Throw in the fact that Dan Campbell is a walking 1990s cliche and it was hard to ever see this team working out. And while everyone loved seeing Campbell and his boys fight hard early in the season against good teams, it was only a matter of time until their lack of talent would start to make the games more lopsided.

In Week 8, that happened in the worst way as they were obliterated by the Philadelphia Eagles 44-6 — and it’s not as if the Eagles are a great team. The Lions are just that bad.

Now they head into their Week 9 bye and they have a lot to figure out at 0-8. Of course, the only real question is whether they can find a single win on their schedule. If not, they will not only be the first team to go 0-17 in a season but they will be the first organization to have two winless seasons. That’s not a distinction anyone wants.
