2021 NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Cardinals, Titans overcome the odds
By Randy Gurzi
After losing three of their first four games to start the season, the Atlanta Falcons have now won three of their last four. Overall, they’re now 4-4 as they were able to hold off the New Orleans Saints in Week 9 despite a sensational fourth0quaretr comeback from their divisional rival.
Atlanta was up by as much as 24-6 in the fourth quarter but then Trevor Siemian and the Saints’ offense went off. Siemian had two touchdown passes (one to Marquez Callaway and one to Kenny Still) and Alvin Kamara had a running touchdown in a 22-point fourth quarter.
Unfortunately for the Saints, they needed at least 24. A failed two-point conversion proved costly as the Falcons were able to move it 64-yards on five plays in the final 1:01 to set up a 29-yard field goal from Younhoe Koo. He knocked it through and the Falcons won 27-25.
Atlanta is now 4-4 and they’re hoping this isn’t just a fluke. Matt Ryan was electric in this one and it couldn’t have come at a better time as they look to get above 500 with a game against the Dallas Cowboys next week — and Dallas should be laser-focused after being embarrassed by Denver this weekend.
A season that seemed lost suddenly has some life for the Dirty Birds.
