2021 NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Cardinals, Titans overcome the odds
By Randy Gurzi
An 0-3 start put the Indianapolis Colts behind the eight-ball but Frank Reich’s team has avoided a collapse as they instead started turning things around. They have since gone 4-2 and are sitting at 4-5 following their Thursday Night Football win over the New York Jets.
In that game, Carson Wentz turned back the clock — must have found the flux capacitor — and was 22-of-30 for 272 yards with three touchdowns and no picks. As good as he was, it was a side note to what running back Jonathan Taylor did.
Taylor was a beast with 172 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. He added another 28 through the air, to give him a clean 200 total yards on the night.
While he wasn’t as dangerous, Nyheim Hines also put up some impressive numbers. Their change-of-pace back had 74 yards and a touchdown on just six rushes and topped 100 total yards thanks to his 34 through the air.
Indianapolis now has a chance to get back to 500 with a game next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars — and thanks to them playing on Thursday night, they will have even more time to prepare for that one. They might not be atop the AFC South but with Derrick Henry out for Tennessee, the door is cracked slightly and the Colts are making sure they are within reach.
