Previous: 16th. Kansas City Chiefs. 14. team. 124. .

They’re back. Kind of. Well, maybe.

The Kansas City Chiefs got a huge win against the Green Bay Packers, giving them just their second loss of the season and the first since Week 1. Of course, there was a huge caveat in that win since Aaron Rodgers was out due to a positive COVID-19 test.

With him out, Jordan Love got the start but there was no chance of a Wally Pipp situation going on here. Kansas City held Love to just 190 yards on 19-of-34 passing with a touchdown and pick. Love did hit Allen Lazard late to make it 13-7 and the Chiefs then ran the clock out.

Kansas City deserves some credit because they did get the win and are finally above 500 at 5-4 but the fact that they were only able to put up 13 points and win by just six despite the struggles from Love is a bit concerning.

They do at least find themselves just a half-game out of first place in an incredibly crowded AFC West. They’re tied with Denver who scored a shocking win at Dallas and a half-game behind the Raiders who surprisingly lost to the New York Giants and the Los Angeles Chargers who beat Philly by three.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are still dangerous but they also still have some work to do in order to be the team we have become accustomed to seeing.
