Why does it seem like year after year, the Washington Football Team is in the middle of something embarrassing or downright wrong? From the cheerleading scandal to the naming issue that Dan Snyder wouldn’t budge on to the leaked emails, this team is simply a mess. And it all starts with Snyder.

Recently, there were even some rumors that he was going to be forced to sell the team. Surely, every fan of this historic and proud franchise was onboard with that. Snyder might be excellent when it comes to making money but he just seems to rub people the wrong way and it feels as though we don’t even know half of it.

As for their product on the field — well, there’s always next year. Again.

Washington might have snuck into the playoffs at 7-9 last season thanks to the NFC East being terrible but 2021 is a different story. Sure, the East is still a dumpster fire overall but there’s one good team as the Dallas Cowboys keep winning and Washington is going into the bye with a record of 2-6. And there are no signs of them getting better anytime soon.

In 2020, their defense really carried them but this year, even that has been hit and miss. It appears Ron Rivera will once again be looking to rebound from a rough campaign.
