2021 NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Cardinals, Titans overcome the odds
By Randy Gurzi
Several shocking wins happened in Week 9 and one of those was when the New York Giants won against the Las Vegas Raiders. Not many people saw New York scoring their third win over the Raiders but that’s exactly what happened — and when looking at some of the stats, it still seems a bit surprising they did win.
While the Giants’ running attack did have 149 yards, they scored no touchdowns on the ground. And through the air, they managed just one as Daniel Jones had a very uninspiring 110 yards on 15-of-20 passing.
However, they had two picks from safety Xavier McKinney, including one that he took back to the house. They also had nine points courtesy of Graham Gano who was 3-of-3 on the day. Now at 3-6, they’re tied with the Eagles for third place in the NFC East, but unless Dallas turns their Week 9 loss into an implosion, the Giants are still not going anywhere.
Instead, this looks like a case of them catching a team off-guard. Which makes sense given all the issues the Raiders have had away from the game.
New York next faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and if they can score another upset win, then we can start talking about a magical run. Until then, this looks like a game they stole.
