You see it all of the time in football.

It doesn’t matter what level of football we’re talking about — high school, college, or pro — coaches seem to have this thing with “seniority” and refuse to admit they are wrong about players until it’s too late.

The Kansas City Chiefs have ridden the Daniel Sorensen wave for far too long, and it’s finally catching up to them and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

Over the last four weeks, Sorensen has been effectively demoted based on the number of snaps he played in the earlier portion of the season, but he’s still giving up big plays in coverage on nearly a weekly basis.

He’s currently credited with giving up over 14 yards per target in coverage and three touchdowns.

According to Pro Football Reference, quarterbacks have a rating of 158.3 — absolutely perfect — throwing into Sorensen’s coverage.

It might be time to have Sorensen go from playing “limited” snaps to absolutely none defensively.
