1. Perfect Fit: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss – Washington Football Team

Heisman Trophy candidate Matt Corral and the Washington Football team are a perfect pair for several reasons. For starters, the Football Team hasn’t found their franchise quarterback. Tyler Heinike’s audition process isn’t going the way anyone hoped. And Fitzmagic’s stint will be short-lived.

Ron Rivera needs a guy under center who can set the tone for his offense. While offensive coordinator Scott Turner needs a versatile weapon, Corral does both.

The 6-1 205-pound quarterback has good enough arm strength to make plays in a timing-based offense. He’ll deliver the ball with touch and accuracy in short areas. He also pushes the ball downfield and works well off zone-read plays.

Wideouts Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel will benefit and help make Corral’s transition an easy one. While Antonio Gibson will benefit from a guy who can help open lanes from him in zone reads.

Corral’s athleticism makes him a third-down headache for defenders. He’ll make defenders miss inside and outside the pocket. He’s capable of escaping and making defenders pay when they turn their backs to him.

The Ole Miss quarterback is a playmaking prospect who’ll hear his name called inside the Top 10. Washington will likely pick somewhere around that range, which should give them a chance to nab their franchise quarterback.
