New York Jets mock draft, 2nd pick: Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson

1st round, 11th overall

Robert Saleh’s defenses seem to always get the best out of players regardless of their draft status.

It’s unfair to call any unit of players in the NFL a motley crew, but the defensive backs Saleh was given to work with in New York this year might not exactly rank high on many lists when it comes to proven productivity or even perceived upside.

With that said, he has his unit playing above outside expectations and some of those players look like they will be solid long-term fits.

Even with that in mind, there was simply not a better value for the New York Jets at pick 11 in this mock draft scenario than Clemson’s Andrew Booth Jr., who is slowly building his case to be one of the top 10 players picked in this year’s draft.

Booth has outstanding size, but it’s his toughness and closing speed when the ball is thrown that really are impressive.

If you’re looking for the corner in this class with the best ball skills, Booth might just be it.
