New York Jets mock draft, 4th pick: Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State

2nd round, 46th overall

It feels like many in the NFL world are sleeping on Trey McBride at the moment.

For the time being, he can be had on the Mock Draft Simulator for the low, low price of the 46th overall pick.

Maybe it’s just the fact that he rocks 85 for the Rams, but there is quite a bit of George Kittle in Trey McBride’s game.

This is not a “big wide receiver” as many of the top tight end prospects are nowadays. McBride clearly takes pride in burying folks in the dirt as a blocker.

He just so happens to have a wide receiver’s skill set when the ball is thrown his way. He’s tremendous in contested catch situations, after the catch, and he’s got some serious giddy-up.

The Jets are obviously running an iteration of the Kyle Shanahan offense in New York, and there probably isn’t a more perfect fit at tight end for them in this draft class than McBride.

He’s a steal here.
