Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report. WR. Penn State. Jahan Dotson. 29. 50

29. Detroit Lions (via Los Angeles Rams): Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Jared Goff will end up getting another chance in 2022 if this mock draft holds true as they went with Kayvon Thibodeaux at No. 1 rather than a new quarterback. Of course, the only way he will have more success next season than he has in 2021 is if the Lions actually get him some weapons.

That’s their goal with their second pick in this opening round — as they cash in the first of several picks from the Rams. Detroit brings in Jahan Dotson who will give Goff a vertical threat to stretch the field some. That should also help open things up for D’Andre Swift in the run game and tight end T.J. Hockenson in the passing game.

Nakobe Dean. 49. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LB. Georgia. 30. player

30. Green Bay Packers: Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

It’s been tough for the Green Bay Packers in the post-Jaylon Smith era. After picking him up earlier this season, Smith racked up one tackle in two games while logging 27 snaps. Where he really helped though, was in the celebration department. In addition to his plethora of tackles, he made sure to get in the middle of every defensive “team picture” after a turnover despite the fact that he had absolutely nothing to do with the play — a tradition he carried over from Dallas.

That kind of selflessness is hard to replace but the Packers are a strong franchise and can get through this. They can also get a much better player at linebacker by taking Nakobe Dean with this pick.
