Oldest NFL players No. 4. Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers
Born: March 2, 1982 (age: 39)
Somehow, someway, Big Ben Roethlisberger is still finding a way to get the job done.
After a bad start to the season as a team, the Pittsburgh Steelers are clawing their way back into AFC playoff contention and have not lost (at the time of this writing) since an October 3rd road trip to Green Bay to take on the Packers.
Roethlisberger, taken out of Miami (OH) with a first-round pick all the way back in 2004, is a living NFL legend who is Canton-bound of the first-ballot variety.
He was an impact player very early on for the Steelers and has helped make that team a consistent title contender year in and year out, regardless of the players around him.
Early on in his career, it looked like Roethlisberger was going to be the type of QB that could only succeed in perfect circumstances with a great running game and defense to back him up.
His game evolved as the league evolved, and Roethlisberger became one of the best passers in modern NFL history, spreading the ball around to Pittsburgh’s seemingly endless cycle of ridiculously talented offensive weapons.
Roethlisberger has been selected to six Pro Bowls and is a two-time Super Bowl champion. Could the 2021 season be his last year in the NFL?
