5 oldest NFL players who are currently active
Oldest NFL players No. 3. Jason Peters, OT, Bears
Born: January 22, 1982 (Age: 39)
Although nobody on this list is more decorated than the very oldest active player in the NFL right now, you’d be hard-pressed to find an active NFL player with more hardware than Jason Peters.
Peters, once a converted tight end, became one of the elite offensive tackles in the NFL by his third season back in 2006. In 2007, he made his first of nine Pro Bowls and has been selected as an All-Pro twice (2011, 2013).
At the age of 39, the Chicago Bears called Peters in an emergency situation to come and fill a gap on their offensive line, and he’s started every game for them this season.
Even though Peters has missed plenty of time due to injury in recent years, “The Bodyguard” was elite for so long with the Philadelphia Eagles that he is likely Hall of Fame-bound when he decides to call it a career.
Again, this is a player who started off as a tight end and converted to the offensive tackle position. He became one of the elite players at one of the most valued positions after he was an All-SEC selection at Arkansas as a tight end.
His career path is one of the most unique in NFL history.
