5. The Chicago Bears offensive line has a good game

The Chicago Bears offensive line has taken a beating both from critics and the injury bug. Multiple linemen went down with injuries and/or COVID. The line got a boost recently with the return of Larry Borom.

With the bye week, offensive line coach Juan Castillo certainly worked on some adjustments to the unit. After some struggles, the line has looked better lately. They want to continue that and help the offense move the ball.

After getting the call late in the preseason and using the beginning of the regular season to get back in playing shape, left tackle Jason Peters is playing a solid game. He’s been doing a good job of protecting the quarterback’s blindside.

The interior of the line is something the Bears felt was their strong point. In terms of running the ball, it has. Pass protection has been another story, though. Center Sam Mustipher has had his struggles with allowing pressures and committing penalties.

One adjustment the coaching staff already made was using Alex Bars as an extra blocker. He’s come in and done a good job of blocking. Hopefully, he keeps doing that, helping the line protect and open holes.

The Bears rank fifth in the league in average rushing yards with 136.6 per game. That is in large part because of the offensive line. Hopefully, they continue that and get better at pass protection.

Prediction: The Chicago Bears run for 176 yards and pass for 285 yards. The line gives up two sacks.
