2. Darnell Mooney makes some big catches

Another key injury the Chicago Bears have to deal with is Allen Robinson‘s hamstring. Despite the bye week, he still hasn’t practiced this week. He’s another player who might not play this week.

In that case, Darnell Mooney needs to have a big game. Playing against this Ravens defense, that could happen.

If there is a team with a secondary weaker than Chicago’s it’s the Baltimore Ravens. Their pass defense ranks last in passing yards and 6th in passing touchdowns allowed. In addition, their pass rush doesn’t do much to affect the quarterback. They rank 20th in sacks despite ranking third in blitz percentage.

One of the things the Chicago Bears added in the offseason was speed. They have a fast wide receivers group. The problem, especially early on, was having the quarterback and those receivers on the same page. In the past two weeks, however, there have been more connections downfield.

Mooney is having a pretty good season. While Robinson is having one of the worst seasons in his career, Mooney is on pace for a career-high 850 yards. Doing what he’s doing now despite the passing woes is impressive. If the passing improves in the second half, Mooney has a shot at eclipsing 1,000 yards this season. That shot starts with a big game against the Ravens.

Prediction: Mooney has 6 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown.
