23rd pick – Kansas City Chiefs: David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan
The Kansas City Chiefs defense has been really bad for most of the 2021 season. Even though they are figuring some things out and got an absolute gift with Aaron Rodgers missing their game against the Packers, the Kansas City defense appears to be on the right track.
The EDGE position needs to be addressed in the 2022 NFL Draft for this team. If they are able to add David Ojabo at this point in round one? That would be highway robbery for this team.
Ojabo has a whopping 10 sacks, five forced fumbles, and 10 tackles for loss at the time of this mock draft (mid-November).
24th pick – Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t exactly experiencing a Super Bowl “hangover” but the war on attrition is real in the NFL.
The Bucs’ secondary has been decimated by injuries throughout the season and reinforcements will be needed for 2022 and beyond.
Kaiir Elam is a big, long, physical specimen at the position whose ball skills are outstanding. After all these players go through testing, Elam could wind up going at least 10 picks higher than this.
