27th pick – Detroit Lions: Drake London, WR, USC

USC. Drake London. 27. player. 50. WR. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After dipping into the impressive pool of PAC 12 talent with the top pick in this 2022 NFL mock draft scenario (Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon), the Detroit Lions go right back to it with their selection acquired from the Los Angeles Rams and take a desperately needed playmaker at wide receiver.

London is currently dealing with the aftermath of a fractured ankle, but he will hopefully be ready to work out for teams before the Draft, and he undoubtedly put first-round stuff on tape this season for USC.

The big-bodied receiver has outstanding hands, body control, and the ability to win consistently at the catch point.

28th pick – Dallas Cowboys: Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC

Pick Analysis. Scouting Report. EDGE. USC. Drake Jackson. 28. player. 123

Back-to-back picks in this mock draft of “Drake” out of USC.

Drake Jackson could be the steal of this mock draft scenario, quite honestly.

The Dallas Cowboys placed a heavy emphasis on the defensive side of the ball with their 2021 NFL Draft class and rightfully so. New coordinator Dan Quinn has helped turn that unit around and even though he could parlay that turnaround into a new head coaching gig in 2022, the Cowboys are only going to get better the more pieces they add.

Randy Gregory is enjoying something of a breakout season, but can you argue with this kind of value at the bottom of round one?

Jackson’s production has not been exactly what people hoped for but he’s winning as a pass rusher and showing off the twitch and athleticism that make him such a highly-coveted prospect.
