NFL: Ranking the worst QB Chemistry in the league: 1. Sam Darnold to Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers

Here it is. The worst chemistry in the league. You know the saying it was so nice we did it twice? Well, the relationship between Sam Darnold and Robby Anderson is the exact opposite of that. It was bad in New York, and now it’s worse in Carolina.

Robby Anderson was becoming a great wide receiver after signing a contract with the Panthers. It seemed like he was hitting the stride he never hit with the Jets. Last season, he broke 1,000 yards for the first time in his career and he became one of the better deep threats in the league. He was doing this with Teddy Bridgewater who isn’t exactly known for his arm.

Then, Darnold comes back in the offseason. Anderson knows what it’s like to work with him so maybe it will work. It did not.

Anderson has 206 yards at the halfway point this season. He is on pace for the worst year of his career. The Panthers offense is sputtering under Darnold, and Anderson’s career is taking the worst hit of all of them. He has zero games over 60 yards. In Weeks 6 through 9, Anderson has a combined 27 yards. That’s insane for a guy who can break a big play like Anderson.
