NFL: Ranking the worst QB Chemistry in the league: 29. Jared Goff to Amon-Ra St. Brown – Detroit Lions

Many thought Amon-Ra St. Brown could be a breakout candidate for the Detroit Lions. A lot of it had to do with the fact the Lions really didn’t have anyone else on the roster. After getting rid of Matthew Stafford in a trade that brought Jared Goff to the Motor City, they also got rid of most of their wide receivers room.

Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay, and Danny Amendola all left in the offseason. That really didn’t put anyone in the rookie’s way to making a splash. Well, it hasn’t really worked out. St. Brown is fourth on the Lions in receiving with just 250 yards and zero touchdowns on the season. He’s not making big plays and Goff doesn’t look for him when he needs a first down.

St. Brown might be the rare occurrence on this list that lasts longer than his quarterback. The Lions are not convinced that Goff is the quarterback of the future. Is the team going to really give up on Goff after one year? It might work out that way.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is looking to make a long-term impact on the league. While he’s taken a little while to get going, getting someone else under center might be key to getting his career going.
