NFL: Ranking the worst QB Chemistry in the league: 27. Derek Carr to Zay Jones – Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have enjoyed success on the field this season. It might be Derek Carr’s best season under center when ignoring everything that is happening off the field. The wide receiver room did take a huge hit when Henry Ruggs was arrested and cut for his alleged drunk driving crash that killed a woman.

One might think that could open the door for someone to step up. Zay Jones seems like an obvious candidate to step up, but he’s had a horrendous season. This is someone who once had 100 targets with the Buffalo Bills. Now, he’s buried on the Las Vegas depth chart.

Jones only has 11 targets at the halfway point of the season. He hasn’t done anything with the Raiders franchise since trading for Jones in the middle of the 2019 season. He’s had trouble building chemistry with Carr, and it’s really put a freeze on his career in general. He re-signed with the Raiders in the offseason, but that seems to be a mistake because he’s having his worst season.
