2021 NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Cowboys continue to slide, Packers bounce back
By Randy Gurzi
They knocked off the Buffalo Bills in the shocker of the season but since then, the Jacksonville Jaguars continued their losing ways. Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons made it three in a row and they’re now 2-9 on the season.
In this loss, rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence had 228 yards on 43 attempts and finished with just one touchdown and a pick. However, Carlos Sanchez from Black and Teal says Lawrence is not the reason for their struggles but blames their propensity for mistakes. He talked about a hold on Jawaan Taylor that cost them points while also highlighting some ill-timed drops.
"“Had Taylor not been flagged late in the game, the Jaguars might’ve scored a touchdown instead of a field goal but that’s not the only play that held the team back. Drops again played a role. Running back Dare Ogunbowale had one early in the game and so did Carlos Hyde. The wide receiver corps made some plays but also were responsible for some drops.”"
With a game next week against the Rams, followed by a meeting with the Titans, things don’t look great in the near future for Jacksonville either. In the end, this feels like a lost season for the team as they’re once again thinking about next year.
