Suddenly, the Buffalo Bills have more competition than they expected in the AFC East. The New England Patriots have gotten hot and entered the weekend with a half-game lead over the Bills who were 6-4. The Bills, on the other hand, have been reeling a little.

Following a 4-1 start, they have now been a roller coaster as they seem to keep following one loss with a win. During their recent stretch, they even lost by three to the Jacksonville Jaguars and were blown out in Week 11 by the Indianapolis Colts 41-15.

Perhaps that one was the wake-up call they needed as the Bills went into Thanksgiving Night with a new focus. They were stingy against the New Orleans Saints, giving up just six points all game. As for their offense, they put up 31 in the lopsided affair.

It was the only game on the holiday slate that didn’t come down to the wire, and thankfully it was the last one of the day. With it being on after we had all stuffed our faces, it made it a little easier to doze off — if one was so inclined.

Of course, Bills fans were surely tuned in and enjoying their team looking like they were ready to turn the corner. But now, their big test comes on Dec. 6 when they host the Patriots for the first time this season. Suddenly, that game is looming rather large.
