Denver Broncos (6-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (7-4)

I think it’s safe to say the Kansas City Chiefs are back. They took a couple of months in the middle of the season off to rest and recuperate. Now they’ve returned from hibernation, ready to topple any team that stands in their way. Okay maybe that’s dramatic, but you get the point.

Patrick Mahomes has broken out of his slump and is now shredding any secondary that stands in his way — as we’ve come to expect from him. The Kansas City defense is also stepping up in a big way, which honestly may have been the bigger issue. Mahomes can overcome a few turnovers, but not when his defense is folding like a poker player with a pair of twos.

Then again, we can’t completely discount the Denver Broncos at this point. Obviously, they haven’t convinced us they’re ready to go the distance, but they’ve stuck around the playoff conversation all season long. As long as Teddy Bridgewater keeps playing well and the Denver defense does its thing, the Broncos will remain in the hunt.

Unfortunately, I don’t see Denver escaping this one with a win. Especially at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs seem primed for another big win as they look to secure the top spot in the AFC with only a few weeks to go before the regular season is in the books.
