2021 NFL picks, score predictions for Week 13

Philadelphia Eagles (5-7) at New York Jets (3-8)

I guess that’s just how it goes — I finally give Jalen Hurts my vote of confidence, and he puts together that mess of a Week 12 performance. I know it obviously isn’t the case, but I feel like I jinxed the poor kid. Maybe a bounce-back game is in order for him and the Philadelphia Eagles?

With the New York Jets next on the docket, it’s easy to think so. Then again, the Jets haven’t been a complete dumpster fire as of late, even with the uncertainty under center. The Gang Green defense is playing well, and the offense is mustering just enough points to keep them in games.

So will another New York franchise have Hurts’ number this upcoming Sunday? It’s possible, but I’m thinking not. The Eagles know they need to keep winning to stay alive in the hunt for the final Wild Card spot in the NFC, and they can’t afford to drop winnable games. This one certainly qualifies as such, and Philadelphia will come ready to play.

The Eagles created a few turnovers on defense, and Hurts avoids his own to right the ship with only a few games left. It’s not enough to slide them into the No. 7 slot in the NFC, but it keeps them from falling into complete irrelevance as we work our way into December.

Prediction: Eagles win 23-21 | Spread: Eagles (-6.5)
