The Seattle Seahawks have made a bizarre, nonsensical roster move, signing running back Adrian Peterson to their practice squad.

If the Seattle Seahawks are going to go down, they are certainly not going to go down quietly.

Entering Week 13 NFL action, the Seahawks are 3-8 and tied for the third-worst record in the entire league. They have lost three straight games, their offense is in shambles, and who knows what the future holds for them beyond just this season?

Despite the situation the Seattle Seahawks are currently in, the team apparently thinks it’s a good idea to add future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson into the mix.

Seattle Seahawks news: Adrian Peterson added to practice squad

This is not the kind of move you typically see from a team that is 3-8 entering Week 13 of the NFL season.

It’s certainly not atypical of the Seattle Seahawks and Pete Carroll to make moves for veteran players, players with a checkered past, or players who are reclamation projects, but this is on another level.

The Tennessee Titans made a desperation move to bring Adrian Peterson on board after the Derrick Henry injury. If Peterson was going to really work out for any team, how would it not have been the Titans?

Derrick Henry is a special breed, but the Titans know how to win in the running game offensively and Peterson simply wasn’t cutting it. It was a worthwhile risk for them, anyway.

For the Seahawks?

At 3-8?

This is weird, nonsensical, and probably a waste of everyone’s time. Kudos to Adrian Peterson for being able to get a job still in the NFL, but his time seems to be rapidly coming to a close.

The Seahawks are obviously hoping that they can still extract the best out of Peterson, but what is his “best” at this point anyway?

This is a bizarre move for a team that is 3-8 and only technically still in contention but borderline at best.

We’ll see if it works out for them.
