2021 NFL Bold Prediction No. 4: Kyler Murray edges out Aaron Rodgers for NFL MVP

Right now, the NFL MVP Award in 2021 seems to be Aaron Rodgers’ to lose. He’s a three-time MVP who won the award last season and is once again playing lights out. Rodgers has nine wins and two losses while completing 66.2 percent of his passes for 2,878 yards.

He’s also boasting an incredible 23-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio. So what could make him lose out? How about a comeback attempt from Kyler Murray?

Ironically enough, we haven’t seen Murray on the field since Week 8 when he was unable to complete a comeback against Rodgers and the Packers. Murray moved his team into scoring range but misfired on a pass to A.J. Green which was picked off, giving the Packers the win. It was also the first loss suffered by Murray on the season as he’s 7-1 as the starter.

He’s expected to be back in Week 13 and that will be the start of him going back after Rodgers. First, it will be trying to lock up the No. 1 seed, and next, it will be taking the MVP award away.

Murray has some ground to cover but his completion percentage of 72.7 is impressive and should he win out — finishing with only one loss as a starter — he should be able to edge out the veteran in the voting for the most prestigious award of the 2021 NFL Season.
