NFL Bold Prediction No. 19: OBJ never gets 100-yards in a game for the Rams
On Sunday, Odell Beckham, Jr. had his best game of the season. He hauled in five of 10 pass targets for 81 yards with a touchdown. The score came from 54-yards out and highlighted why the Los Angeles Rams were more than happy to add him.
It was also why the Cleveland Browns were happy to bring him in but that relationship never worked out. There’s renewed hope that things will be great for OBJ in L.A., and after two games, all seems well. He’s getting the ball again and even had that huge touchdown.
However, outside of that 54-yarder, he’s been doing the same thing he did a lot of in Cleveland, making shorter catches — and he also had a killer drop on third down. Another thing that could hurt him is something else that hampered him earlier this season with the Browns, the health of his quarterback.
After leaving a beat-up Baker Mayfield behind, Beckham now has Matthew Stafford throwing him the ball. There’s not much debate that Stafford has been better throughout his career than Mayfield but he suddenly has a laundry list of ailments including a back issue. That could be a factor in the Rams’ sudden three-game losing streak.
It could also cause Beckham to finish this season with no games where he produces 100-yards, with his Week 12 outing going down as his best in a Los Angeles uniform.
