NFL Bold Prediction No. 17: Taysom Hill has winning record as starter

The New Orleans Saints really want Taysom Hill to break out as a quarterback. Head coach Sean Payton has been his biggest fan and even gave him the first opportunity to win the starting job in the preseason. Jameis Winston gave him no choice as he was clearly the better option, but now with Winston out and Hill fully healthy, he’s going to get his shot.

He has a lot on the line too as the Saints gave him yet another comically large contract that could become astronomical if he wins the starting job. Whether or not he hits that huge stipulation could depend heavily on how he plays down the stretch. He could end up proving to the Saints that he should be the guy and push Winston out of a job.

Heading into his first start, New Orleans is 5-6 and needs a strong finish to have any shot at sneaking into the playoffs. While Hill might not be ready to make the fans forget about Drew Brees, he could end up with a winning record and this prediction is that he will do exactly that.

Look for him to win the majority of his starts, which will set the team up for an interesting offseason as they will have to decide on re-signing Winston or going with Payton’s project player for the full 2022 season.
