NFL Bold Prediction No. 16: Trevon Diggs gets 12 picks by season’s end

Trevon Diggs has been insane this season. The second-year player is proving that the Dallas Cowboys got a steal in the 2020 NFL Draft when he fell to them in Round 2 — and they also have to feel much better about letting Byron Jones walk even if it did prove to be a mistake to pay Jaylon Smith with the money they saved there.

But I digress, Diggs has eight interceptions this season and has returned them for a total of 142 yards with two going for a touchdown. He’s also been able to break up 13 passes, which is one away from what he had as a rookie. He’s also been close to taking another couple of passes away, which would make his impressive season even better.

Having said all that, he has now gone two games in a row without netting an interception, which ties the longest streak of the season for him. Not only will he end that dry spell when the Cowboys play on Thursday night, but look for him to get at least 12 by the end of the season. That would top the 11 by Everson Wall back in 1981, giving Diggs the most in team history for a single season — although it would be just two shy of the NFL record of 14.
