Atlanta Falcons Fifth-round pick: Hassan Haskins, RB, Michigan

Upgrading the running back position should happen at some point in the 2022 NFL Draft. They struggled to get anything going on early downs despite offensive coordinator Dave Ragone’s willingness to pound the rock.

Taking a running back early is a possibility, but there’s value on Day 3. Getting a two-down back could help the offense and keep Cordarrelle Patterson as a utility player and third-down back.

Michigan running back Hassan Haskins would be a steal for the Flacons. Fans got to see what Haskins was capable of against Ohio State. The power runner ran his way to five touchdowns and into the NFL Draft media spotlight.

At 6-1 220-pounds, Haskins is a plug-and-play back for the Falcons thanks to the pro-ready style Michigan runs. He’s a power runner who sticks his foot into the ground and follows his blocks. Haskins isn’t an elite prospect, but he offers value on special teams as well.

In Arthur Smith and Ragone’s system, he’d find a home dominating on early downs until his role expanded. His rookie production can make him a steal for the Falcons.

Sixth-round pick: Bubba Bolden, S, Miami

Adding depth to their safety position with someone who has potential should be on the radar for Day 3. University of Miami safety Bubba Bolden’s shortcomings as a tackler hindered his draft stock.

However, he’s 6-2 200-pounds with good range and length. He flies all over the field and displays good instincts. There’s a realistic chance he doesn’t last this long because of his potential. If he’s available on Day 3, the Falcons should jump at the chance of taking him.
