There seems to be suggestive speculation that we see Russell Wilson play quarterback for the New York Giants in the 2022 NFL Season.
Russell Wilson is a superstar quarterback in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks, but there seems to be a genuine belief that the 33-year old will be playing for a new team in 2022 as his name is being spoken in the same sentence as the New York Giants.
Ever since the infamous goal-line interception in Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots (you know the game), there has been a rift in the relationship between Carroll and Wilson.
One would think that being a seven-time Pro-Bowl quarterback in the NFL would warrant having some faith in their abilities, however, that’s not the case for these two.
Pete Carroll was given a dynasty with the Legion of Boom and instead of having the chance to win back-to-back titles and beyond, they settled for one and done. Now, mad with his own ego, he’s on the verge of driving out the only reason why he has a job in the league. This leaves the New York Giants on the cusp of offering one of the biggest blockbuster trades in NFL history.

In the hypothetical situation in which quarterback Russell Wilson were to leave the Seattle Seahawks, why would the New York Giants make the most sense? Three words: New York City.
There is no bigger market in North America or the world for that matter than NYC. Wilson is a humble star and he’s a primetime player deserving of the respect for it. This city is the biggest stage in sports and is in dire need of bringing in someone who can shine.
Their current starting quarterback, Daniel “Danny Dimes” Jones, is simply not their guy. He can’t handle the brightness of the spotlight nor the pressure it brings. He’s a filler.
Russell Wilson, on the other hand, is a role model athlete and would be an icon in New York City. Not to mention that this benefit is doubled for his wife, Ciara, an American singer and songwriter. The popularity and marketability these two would have is overwhelming.
If Big Blue can come away with one of the premier passers in the NFL today in a blockbuster trade, the success resulting from the move will be instantaneous. A team that is equal to the Philadelphia Eagles is a team of misery. This is a move that vaults the Giants into becoming a contender. Football is simply better when the New York Giants are in the playoffs.
The same statement applies to the New York Yankees in baseball. The front office needs to make this happen. This is a city that is the pinnacle of national media and it cannot continue to settle for mediocrity. Give the fans what they want: a winning team.
