FanDuel DFS NFL Week 13 picks and lineup advice: Running Back

Jonathan Taylor ($10500) is the best play at the running back position this week, regardless of his steep price tag. A common build will surely be squeezing Taylor into your lineup with some cheaper running back options I will touch on later and I think that is an extremely viable strategy for cash. However, in tournaments, I think that so many people will be playing Taylor which means other expensive running backs will go under rostered.

Joe Mixon ($9400) has eight touchdowns in the past four games and has also seen 30-plus opportunities in his last two matches. He should continue his dominance against the Los Angeles Chargers who boast one of the league’s worst run defenses.

On the other side of the ball, Austin Ekeler ($9000) also has a fantastic matchup and comes with his pass-catching upside. This will be one of the more popular games to stack this week, and I would recommend playing the running back of the team you think will end up getting the win.

Cordarrelle Patterson ($7400) is still way too cheap after showing last week that he is Atlanta’s offense. While it is always scary playing a running back against the Tampa Bay defense, Patterson’s involvement in all facets of the game makes him essentially game script and defense proof.

Josh Jacobs ($7000) saw 24 touches last week, a season-high, and continued one of the most predictable trends in the NFL, which is that when the Raiders win Jacobs performs, and when they lose he is almost unusable for fantasy. He recently popped up on the injury report but if he is able to go, I like his odds to put up a nice game against an injured Washington front.

David Montgomery ($6500) is a player that has way too much talent to be priced this low. I personally believe the Bears can hang in there against the Cardinals this week, and if they do Montgomery will be a big part of it.

Even further down, Antonio Gibson ($6200) should handle a majority of the backfield with McKissic likely out with a concussion. The volume he is going to see against a below-average Raiders rush defense is far too valuable for this price.

Finally, Jamaal Williams ($6500) and Sony Michel ($5300) are going to be two of the more popular backup plays this week, with Swift and Henderson both looking highly questionable for Sunday. Williams is certainly priced up a bit, though his matchup against the Vikings still makes him a viable play. However, if Henderson is unable to go Michel becomes one of the best plays on the entire slate at only $5300 against an awful Jacksonville rush defense.
