FanDuel DFS NFL Week 13 picks and lineup advice: Tight End

Tight end has been a very weird position, in general, this year, with the only consistent players being Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews to a lesser extent. With no Kelce on the slate this week, I think punting is a very viable option due to the sheer variability of the position.

If you want to pay up for the position, I like Mark Andrews ($7300) in cash formats and Rob Gronkowski ($7000) for tournaments. Andrews has seen at least eight targets in four straight games and should continue to see increased looks as the Ravens’ offense tries to get back on track against a weak Steelers secondary. Gronk looks rejuvenated after missing five games this year and gets a fantastic matchup against the Falcons.

Foster Moreau ($5000) will be the most popular play at the position this week, and I think you almost have to play him in cash lineups this week at that type of salary. However, in tournaments, I do not think he is a must-play, and there are plenty of other tight ends around that price point that could give you some leverage if Moreau comes in at a high roster percentage in tournaments.

Jared Cook ($5100) and Pat Freiermuth ($5400) are two players that have shown their touchdown upside and should both see plenty of opportunities. While I am fine playing along and going with Moreau in cash, he is still a backup tight end on an average offense.

FanDuel DFS NFL Week 13 picks and lineup advice: D/ST

The best play on defense this week is quite simply the Miami Dolphins ($4000) against a Giants team without Daniel Jones and its two top wide receivers. In a game with an over-under of only 39 points, I will be quite surprised if Miami is not the best value play of the week when all is said and done. However, defense is still one of the most variable positions, so it is still valuable looking at other options just to try and get different.

I like the Eagles ($4800) the most out of the more expensive defensive options this week, as they match up well with a Jets offense that obviously does not have the potential to put up a big game. With Zach Wilson also seemingly dealing with injury, the Eagles should be able to get a handful of sacks and turnovers as well.

As for a cheaper option, the Bears ($3600) get to face either an injured Kyler Murray or Colt McCoy and could apply enough pressure to rack up some points in a surely low-scoring affair.

Fanduel DFS Week 13 Lineup

  • QB Tom Brady – $8100
  • RB Cordarrelle Patterson – $7400
  • RB Antonio Gibson – $6200
  • WR Chris Godwin – $7600
  • WR Hunter Renfrow – $6400
  • WR Josh Reynolds – $5100
  • TE Rob Gronkowski – $7000
  • FLEX Justin Jefferson – $8000
  • D/ST Miami – $4000

This lineup is obviously more suited for a tournament, as it utilized a game stack of the Falcons versus Bucs game along with some riskier plays like Josh Reynolds and some huge upside plays like Justin Jefferson and Antonio Gibson.

If this Falcons and Bucs game goes well over its Vegas implied total, this lineup could do some serious damage if the ancillary pieces pull their weight. Regardless of what game you decide to stack and your eventual lineup, best of luck in your Week 13 FanDuel DFS endeavors!
