2021 NFL picks, score predictions for Week 14

San Francisco 49ers (6-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (7-5)

I thought the San Francisco 49ers were on a rocket to the top (or at near it) of the NFC standings. Then they got toppled by the floundering Seahawks, and suddenly I’m not so sure they’re ready to make a late push for a playoff spot. Doubts remain as we head into Week 14.

Then again, the same could be said for the Cincinnati Bengals. They’ve been up and down all year long, looking dominant at times and then stumbling in games they should win. While I don’t think their Week 13 matchup with the Chargers falls into the latter category, it was one they should have been more competitive in.

So who gets the win in this one? I’m giving this one to the 49ers. They’ve been an excellent team on the road this year, and have the offensive weapons to get it done. While the Cincinnati defense is a concern, they should be able to lean on George Kittle and Elijah Mitchell to help put points on the board.

Oddly enough, I could see this being a low-scoring battle that comes down to the final possession or two to decide. That ends up being the case, with the 49ers defense coming up with a clutch turnover to shut down Joe Burrow and Co. and get a much-needed win with only a month to go in the season.
