New Orleans Saints (5-7) at New York Jets (3-9)

Sunday, December 12, 1PM ET

The New York Jets have not been good this season. Then again, the New Orleans Saints haven’t exactly been dominant down the stretch either. In fact, they’re currently riding a five-game losing streak and seem to be headed towards a disappointing end to their 2021 campaign.

Since Jameis Winston went down with an injury, the Saints haven’t been the same team. The loss of Alvin Kamara didn’t help either. While they aren’t out of the running for one of the final Wild Card spots in the NFC, they haven’t shown enough in recent weeks to convince me they’re capable of making a late run.

Obviously the Jets aren’t even in the playoff conversation at this point. While that is the case, they haven’t been awful down the stretch. The emergence of Elijah Moore has helped, and the return of Zach Wilson has made them semi-competitive. As long as the defense can contain Taysom Hill, New York stands a legitimate shot at pulling off the win in Week 14.

This could be a low-scoring affair, with neither team coming up big on the offensive end. However, if the Jets can avoid turnovers and keep Hill in check, there’s a very good chance they emerge with their fourth win of the year.

Prediction: Jets win 20-17 | Spread: Saints (-5.5)
