The Las Vegas Raiders have had a wild 2021 season. What will the team’s roster look like for 2022? Which 2022 free agents won’t be back?

To say it has been a tumultuous season for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 would be a massive understatement. Jon Gruden resigned as the team’s head coach, and off-field circumstances led to the team releasing both of their 2020 first-round picks Henry Ruggs III and Damon Arnette.

Save for a gritty win on Thanksgiving in Dallas, the Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the most ice-cold teams in the entire NFL over the last month or so, losing four of their last five games.

Heading into Week 14 of the 2021 season, Vegas still has a chance to get things back together and make a playoff run, but that feels unlikely right now.

Which 2022 free agents for the Las Vegas Raiders are as good as gone in 2022?

With one eye on the future for this team, what can we expect from the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2022 offseason? Which of their impending free agents will not be back with the team?

1. Marcus Mariota, quarterback

Although he’s barely played since joining the Las Vegas Raiders, it feels like former first-round pick Marcus Mariota has really rehabbed his value in the last couple of years.

Unless the Raiders are coming to Mariota with an opportunity to start next season, it looks really doubtful that he’d be back with the organization.

There obviously weren’t a ton of teams in the 2021 offseason that wanted Mariota bad enough, but there could be opportunities for him to possibly be a team’s bridge quarterback in 2022 and he would be a fun dart throw for clubs breaking in a rookie quarterback next season.

Mariota still obviously has dynamic abilities as a ball carrier and we’ve seen that on display in his limited snaps with the Raiders.
