5. Solomon Thomas, defensive line

A former Stanford star and high selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, Solomon Thomas is having something of a breakout season with the Raiders in 2021.

He’s got a career-high 12 QB hits in 12 games so far, along with 3.5 sacks and three tackles for loss.

Thomas has proven himself to be a valuable part of the Raiders’ rotation on the defensive front, so you could just as easily make a case for him being retained in 2022.

With that being said, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Thomas parlay what he’s done with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 and turn that into a big deal elsewhere as the Raiders change around their coaching staff, presumably.

Thomas has not lived up to his billing as a top-five pick in the NFL Draft, but he has proven that he is still capable of getting better and having a lot of success in the right system.

We’ll see if he can keep his productivity as a pass rusher going. In addition to those 12 QB hits, he’s got 16 pressures, three off of his career-high back in his rookie season.
