15. Denver Broncos

This week was an emotional one for all Denver Broncos fans. Former wide receiver Demaryius Thomas passed away at just 33 years of age — which was a huge shock. All week, stories of what an awesome person he was were heard and the Broncos then took the field with No. 88 decals on their helmets.

In addition to wearing his number, they also had a moment of silence but they weren’t done there. Denver took the field against the Detroit Lions with just 10 players, leaving a spot open for Thomas.

"“They paid tribute to their fallen former player by opening Sunday’s game on offense with just 10 men on the field, leaving the 11th spot open in honor of Thomas as receiver Courtland Sutton remained on the sideline.” — Jason Owens, Yahoo Sports"

Thomas touched so many people in his life and it was cool to see the team show so much love. That was much more important than anything that happened on the field.

Having said that, they did score an easy win over the Detroit Lions 38-10. They’re now 7-6 and remain in the AFC playoff race. Perhaps they will be able to continue this upward trend thanks to the inspiration they’re playing with as they try their best to honor someone who meant so much to this fan base for so many years.
