No one saw the Indianapolis Colts heading into the bye week with a record of 7-6. If they told you they did, they’re probably lying.

Indianapolis looked to be completely lost following an 0-3 start to the season. They continued to have some highs and lows and were just 3-5 not that long ago. But a three-game winning streak, followed by a close loss to the defending champion Tampa Bay Bucs, put them back in a great spot.

They then won over the Houston Texans by a score of 31-0, heading into the bye week on a high. They can also use the extra week off to prepare for their next opponent, which happens to be the New England Patriots. Of course, the Pats have the week off as well, meaning there won’t be a huge advantage for the Colts.

A win against New England would be huge because their final stretch is daunting. After the Pats, they head to Arizona to play the Cardinals who have the best record in the NFL, followed by a game at home against the Las Vegas Raiders. While the Raiders are a roller coaster of a team, they have proven they can beat anyone when they get hot.

Indianapolis finishes with a very winnable game against Jacksonville in Week 18 but whether or not they overtake Tennessee down the stretch will hinge on how they handle the next three weeks.
